The first step in weight management is knowing your weight health status.
There are several measurements to make this assesssment. The most accurate and medically approved is the body mass index ( BMI).

1- The Body Mass Index (BMI).
This is the ratio of body fat to total body mass. It uses your height and weight to determine your weight health.

The risk for obesity starts as early as before birth; maternal factors such as smoking, gestational diabetes and obesity increase the chances of a child developing into an obese adult.  Breastfeeding reduces the risk.

There are four food groups for a healthy eating:

1- Vegetables and Fruit. We need more servings from this group than any other.
