Obesity A Greater Risk For Fatty Liver-Study

In a study that found moderate alcohol consumption didn't have much effect on fatty liver, researchers found obesity  to be a greater risk.

The study involved 44 people. They were instructed to drink every day for three months either:
  1. No alcohol
  2. 1 glass of red wine for women
  3. 2 glasses of red wine for men

Does Cesarean Section Play a Role In Obesity?

Researchers found a link between cesarean sections and obesity.

The study which  was conducted in Brazil  found that 15% of babies delivered by cesarean section were obese adults compared to 10% of those delivered vaginally.
 
More than 2,000 23-25 year olds were involved in the study.

Some experts believe one reason is that babies born by cesarean section are not exposed to beneficial bacteria in the birth canal and that it may account for the low bifidobacteria necessary to regulate me...

Obese Women Can Lose Weight In Pregnancy-Study

According to a new study obese women may be able to lose weight in pregnancy and reduce the risk of a cesarean section or an overweight baby.


Researchers examined the medical records of 46,000 obese pregnant women who gave birth between 1993 and 2008.  The women were placed in three groups based on their body mass index (BMI).

1- A body mass index of 30-35
2- A body mass index of 35-40
3- A body mass index of over 40
