Focus On Counting Calories To Lose Weight

In a randomized study researchers assigned 300 overweight men and women to either:
  1. A high protein diet
  2. A high carbohydrate diet
.
Both diets had similar calorie intake

The participants were between the ages 35 and 75 with type 2 diabetes and a body mass index (BMI) of over 27.

They were on this nutritional program for two years.

There was no difference between the plans, they both yielded positive results. Researchers concluded that calorie control was far more important than carbohydate...
