You decided to make weight control your new year resolution, Congratulations! It is an excellent one.

To guide you for success, here are some things to put on your resolution agenda.

Assess your weight health and get to know your self.

Firstly, calculate your body mass index(BMI). Do So Here.

If your (BMI) is 25 or over, start planning.

If your BMI is 24.9 or less, you don't need to lose weight. It doesn't matter what your friends say, what size clothes you wear or what your shape is.

Remember every one is unique and so are you.

Begin by setting realistic goals, such as the amount of weight to lose and the time in which to do it.

A weight loss of 5-10% of body weight is realistic and the experts say it is enough to make a difference to your health.

Losing one pound a week is reasonable.

The experts also recommend that you avoid quick fixes.

If you opt for a quick fix, prepare for an alternative. This way you wouldn't give up because it didn't work out.

Start keeping records before you begin, so you know your habits before. This can be done with a diet/ activity journal.

Make long-term commitment and compliance an integral part of your plans.

Don't just go on a calorie control diet, plan for healthy eating too.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day; breakfast will regulate your apetite, don't miss it.
